Equipment

  • Traeger/Pellet Grill
  • Smoker

Ingredients

  • 1 pork tenderloin (not pork loin)
  • 2 Tbsps hoisin sauce
  • 2 Tbsps honey
  • 2 Tbsps Shaoxing (Chinese cooking wine, I ordered from Amazon)
  • 2 Tbsps oyster sauce
  • 2 Tbsps soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 Tbsps brown sugar
  • 4 cloves garlic finely minced
  • 2 tsps ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsps Chinese Five Spice powder
  • kosher salt, pepper, a drop or two red food coloring
  • Optional: serve with rice, yum yum sauce, sriracha

Instructions

  • Put the pork tenderloin in a gallon size plastic bag. Add remaining ingredients and massage the bag until evenly combined. Marinate in the fridge several hours or overnight.
  • Set your smoker or pellet grill to 225 degrees. Place the pork right on the grill grate for 2 hours or until the internal temperature is 145 degrees, flipping halfway through. Brush several times with the remaining marinade during the last hour and a half.
  • Let it rest for a few minutes, slice and serve with rice, yum yum sauce, and sriracha if desired.
