Equipment

  • Blackstone Griddle
  • Flat Top Grill/ Griddle

Ingredients

  • 1 (12-count) package King's Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
  • 5 tablespoons melted butter
  • Italian seasoning, garlic powder, kosher salt, pepper
  • 1 (6-ounce) package pepperoni
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (or more for extra cheesy goodness)
  • 1 (8-ounce) jar pizza sauce

Instructions

  • Slice the rolls in half to separate top and bottom. Lay them cut side up. Mix the melted butter with some Italian seasoning, garlic powder, kosher salt, and pepper. Brush this on the cut side of both halves of the rolls.
  • Preheat your griddle to medium low/ low (I used my indoor Blackstone griddle set to 325 degrees) Place the pepperoni slices in a single layer on the griddle for 2 to 3 minutes then scoot them to the side.
  • Place the rolls, cut side down on the griddle and flatten slightly with your spatulas. Sprinkle the cheese on both sides, and season both sides with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, kosher salt, and pepper.
  • Add some of the pizza sauce and pepperoni to one side of the rolls and cover with a lid or melting dome. You can add some water to the griddle before covering to create some steam if desired.
  • Once the cheese is mostly melted, flip the cheesy half of the rolls over the pepperoni side. Cover again until cheese is melted and bread is toasted to your liking.
  • Cut and serve with remaining pizza sauce on the side for dipping.
