Equipment

  • Traeger/Pellet Grill
  • Blackstone Griddle

Ingredients

  • 1 (3-pound) tomahawk steak
  • kosher salt, pepper, steak seasoning blend
  • cooking oil of choice

Instructions

  • Season all sides of the tomahawk with kosher salt, pepper, and steak seasoning blend.
  • Place the tomahawk in your smoker or pellet grill set to 225 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until internal temperature reaches 110 degrees.
  • Remove the tomahawk from the smoker or pellet grill at exactly 110 degrees, let it rest while your Blackstone or flat top griddle preheats to medium high/ high.
  • Add cooking oil of choice and the tomahawk to the griddle, cook 2 to 3 minutes per side for medium rare to medium doneness, I also used tongs to sear the edges.
  • Let it rest for at least 10 minutes before serving.
