Equipment

  • Traeger/Pellet Grill
  • Smoker

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground Italian sausage
  • 1 8 ounce block cream cheese at room temperature
  • 1 4 ounce bag mini pepperoni slices
  • 1 14 ounce jar pizza sauce
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • garlic powder, Italian seasoning
  • Fritos Scoops for dipping

Instructions

  • Add the ground Italian sausage to a skillet over medium heat. Cook 6 to 8 minutes, breaking it apart as it cooks with a wooden spatula. Drain excess grease and set aside.
  • Spread the cream cheese evenly in the bottom of a casserole dish.
Note: I had the best luck using the back of a metal spoon.
  • Add a third of the cooked Italian sausage, mini pepperoni, and cheese evenly over the cream cheese and spoon half of the pizza sauce over top. Sprinkle garlic powder and Italian seasoning. Repeat and add another third of the cooked Italian sausage, mini pepperoni, and cheese and spoon the rest of the pizza sauce over top.
  • Top with the remaining cheese and add the rest of the sausage and pepperoni. Sprinkle garlic powder and Italian seasoning over top.
  • Set the smoker or pellet grill to 250 degrees. Place the dip on the grill grate for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until the cheese is melted and the dip is bubbly. Serve with Fritos Scoops.
