Smoked Pepperoni Pizza Dip
There’s just something extra special when a dish is cooked on the smoker or pellet grill, so this Smoked Pepperoni Pizza Dip recipe is an over the top delicious recipe!
It takes everyone’s favorite… PIZZA!… and transforms it into a tasty and smoky dip perfect with Fritos Scoops.
I may or may not have a secret love affair with Fritos in general, so that may add to my excitement 😉
But hey, cheesy goodness with pepperoni, sausage, and pizza sauce makes for the perfect appetizer or game day snack!
How to make this Smoked Pepperoni Pizza Dip recipe
I was originally just going to include pepperoni (hence the name of the recipe 😉 ), but went the extra mile and added some Italian sausage.
I like to go big or go home with my game day snack recipes.
First set a skillet over medium heat along with a pound of ground Italian sausage.
Cook this for 6 to 8 minutes, breaking apart the sausage as it cooks.
Then just drain the extra grease and set aside.
Then spread a block of cream cheese in the bottom of a 9×13 casserole dish.
It helps if the cream cheese is at room temperature.
And feel free to use a disposable foil pan for easy cleanup (kinda wish I thought of that, but oh well).
Next layer the sausage, pepperoni slices, and cheese.
Along with some garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
After about 3 layers of dip, we are ready for the smoker or Traeger pellet grill.
Just set it to 250 degrees and place the dip right on the grill grate.
It will cook about 1 1/2 to 2 hours total.
Once the cheese is melty and the dip is bubbly, we are ready to dig in!
Serve this Smoked Pepperoni Pizza Dip recipe with plenty of Fritos Scoops for dipping and enjoy 🙂

- Traeger/Pellet Grill
- Smoker
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground Italian sausage
- 1 8 ounce block cream cheese at room temperature
- 1 4 ounce bag mini pepperoni slices
- 1 14 ounce jar pizza sauce
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- garlic powder, Italian seasoning

Instructions
- Add the ground Italian sausage to a skillet over medium heat. Cook 6 to 8 minutes, breaking it apart as it cooks with a wooden spatula. Drain excess grease and set aside.
- Spread the cream cheese evenly in the bottom of a casserole dish.Note: I had the best luck using the back of a metal spoon.
- Add a third of the cooked Italian sausage, mini pepperoni, and cheese evenly over the cream cheese and spoon half of the pizza sauce over top. Sprinkle garlic powder and Italian seasoning. Repeat and add another third of the cooked Italian sausage, mini pepperoni, and cheese and spoon the rest of the pizza sauce over top.
- Top with the remaining cheese and add the rest of the sausage and pepperoni. Sprinkle garlic powder and Italian seasoning over top.
- Set the smoker or pellet grill to 250 degrees. Place the dip on the grill grate for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until the cheese is melted and the dip is bubbly. Serve with Fritos Scoops.
