Blackstone Pepperoni Pizza Slotdogs
One sure way I know to make my family happy at dinner is to add some sort of a pizza twist, so over the weekend we made Blackstone Pepperoni Pizza Slotdogs!
A fun and easy weeknight dinner idea on the griddle, also perfect for camping.
If you don’t have a Slotdog, you can get one at Amazon or just use a knife to make some diagonal criss crosses in your hot dogs.

How to make Blackstone Pepperoni Pizza Slotdogs
First use your Slotdog to criss cross the hot dogs and place on your Blackstone or flat top griddle over medium heat with some cooking oil.
And season with your favorite pizza seasoning blend.
One thing that made this super fun was this Ninja Turtle pizza seasoning, or you can use garlic powder and Italian seasoning.

Flip the dogs a few times and move them to the edge of your griddle to stay warm once they are pretty much cooked how you like.

Scrape your griddle if needed, and lower the heat.
Place 6 groups of pepperoni on the griddle, in groups of six (one for each hot dog).

Then add some pizza cheese and more pizza seasoning over each group of pepperoni.
I tried to aim for the same size as the hot dog buns.

Open each bun and place over each cheesy pile of goodness, pressing down slightly.

Give them a minute or so, then use your spatula to remove each one.

And add the hot dogs to the cheesy pepperoni buns with toppings such as pizza sauce, parmesan cheese, and crushed red pepper flakes.

We added Blackstone Pepperoni Pizza Slotdogs back to the griddle to crisp up the bottoms of each bun, but that’s optional 🙂

Blackstone Pepperoni Pizza Slotdogs
Equipment
- Blackstone Griddle
- Flat Top Grill/ Griddle
- Slotdog
Ingredients
- 6 hot dogs (I used Nathan's Bun Length)
- cooking oil of choice
- pizza seasoning blend (or a mix of garlic powder and Italian seasoning)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella or pizza cheese
- 36 slices pepperoni
- 6 hot dog buns (I used Brioche buns)
- Toppings: pizza sauce, parmesan cheese, crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Use your Slotdog (link to purchase in post above) or use a knife to cut a few diagonal slits in each hot dog.
- Preheat griddle to medium and add cooking oil of choice. Cook hot dogs for 4 to 5 minutes, flipping a few times, add some pizza seasoning as well. Scoot hot dogs to the edge of griddle so they stay warm.
- Lower griddle heat to medium low/ low and scrape center of griddle clean. Lay the pepperoni in groups of 6 on the griddle, 6 total for the 6 hot dogs. Sprinkle the pizza cheese over top of each pepperoni group, which should be just the right size for the buns.Note: Picture example in post above.
- Open each bun as much as possible and place them, cut side down, over each cheesy pepperoni group and press down slightly. Once cheese is melty and a little crisp on the bottom use a spatula to remove each cheesy bun from griddle, flip over, and place on a tray.
- Add slotdogs, pizza sauce, parmesan cheese, and crushed red pepper flakes to each bun and enjoy!Note: We added our topped hot dogs back to the griddle for a minute to crisp the bottoms of the buns, but that's optional.
