Brisket Tater Tot Casserole
Looking for easy, yummy recipes to use up all that leftover smoked brisket?! I got ya covered with this Brisket Tater Tot Casserole 🙂
Just a few simple ingredients and you’ll have a cheesy, creamy BBQ casserole with a crisp tater tot topping!
This recipe would also work for leftover smoked pork or chicken as well.
How to make Brisket Tater Tot Casserole
First put 2 cups of leftover chopped brisket in a bowl with 1/2 to 1 cup BBQ sauce, depending how saucy you prefer.
I actually mixed my brisket and BBQ sauce together first, but you can add them separately too.
Then add a block of cream cheese, 2 cups shredded cheese, and a can of either green chiles or diced jalapenos.
Season with kosher salt, pepper, and BBQ seasoning.
Then mix until combined.
Put the brisket mixture in a greased 9×13 casserole dish and spread it evenly.
Next add a single layer of frozen tater tots.
Sprinkle more BBQ seasoning over top.
Then bake in a 400 degree oven for 30 to 40 minutes.
Serve Brisket Tater Tot Casserole right away for the crispiest tater tots 🙂
As this sits, the tots lose their crisp slightly… but are still just as good.
We garnished with green onions.
And served with more BBQ sauce and hot sauce too!
YUM!
