Smoked Lemonade Chicken Thighs
This recipe for Smoked Lemonade Chicken Thighs is a very simple dinner idea for the smoker or Traeger pellet grill.
A flavorful marinade with bright lemon and sweetness from the brown sugar to balance is SOOOO good đŸ™‚
You could easily use chicken drumsticks, wings, or split chicken breasts with the same marinade if preferred.
How to make Smoked Lemonade Chicken Thighs
First put about 5 pounds of chicken thighs in a gallon size plastic bag.
Which is 6 to 8 thighs total, depending on the size.
Then add to the bag some lemon juice and zest, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, olive oil, and Worcestershire sauce.
Also lots of freshly minced garlic, kosher salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes.
Then massage the bag until everything is combined and marinate in the fridge for a few hours.
Set the smoker or Traeger pellet grill to 250 degrees.
And place the chicken thighs right on the grill grate.
They will cook 2 1/2 to 3 hours total, flipping them halfway through.
Smoked Lemonade Chicken Thighs are the perfect mix of lemony sweetness!
And with just the right amount of spice from the pepper flakes.
We squeezed some lemon wedges over our chicken before serving.
Add a side salad and maybe corn on the cob for an incredible complete meal.
