Traeger Nashville Hot Chicken Wings

Traeger Nashville Hot Chicken Wings are a little on the spicy side, but balanced out with the honey butter dipping sauce 🙂

I have done my fair share of smoked wings, and most I cook low and slow on the Traeger at 250 degrees.

Honey Hot Wings, Sriracha Maple Chicken Wings, and Smoked Old Bay Chicken Wings are just a few of my favorites.

These, however, are on the crisper side so I am coating them in baking powder and cooking at a higher temp.

The baking powder will help dry out the chicken skin to create a crispy wing 🙂

How to Make Traeger Nashville Hot Chicken Wings

I am using four pounds of the whole chicken wings that have not been split.

And the main seasoning is this dry Nashville Hot chicken seasoning.

You can find it in the spice aisle at most grocery stores.

Put the chicken wings in a large bowl.

And add 2 tablespoons of the Nashville Hot seasoning, 2 tablespoons baking powder, 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder, kosher salt, and pepper.

Toss with your hands until the chicken is coated.

Set the Traeger to 400 degrees.

And once preheated place the chicken wings on the grill grate.

They will cook 45 minutes to an hour, and flip them halfway through.

Check the temperature toward the end of cooking time and they are ready once they are over 165 degrees.

While the chicken cools, make the spicy honey butter dipping sauce.

You need 6 tablespoons butter, 2 tablespoons honey, and 1/2 tablespoon Nashville Hot seasoning.

If you only wanted a sweet dipping sauce, just leave the hot seasoning out.

Put all three ingredients into a saucepan over medium heat.

Stir until it’s all melted together and serve in a small dish for dipping.

Traeger Nashville Hot Chicken Wings have the perfect trio of flavors!

Smoky wood fired flavor, a decent spicy kick, and sweet honey butter dipping sauce.
