Traeger Old Bay Shrimp Boil
One of our all time favorite summer meals is this recipe for Traeger Old Bay Shrimp Boil!
I mean, it would be incredible year round but seems like a vacation type meal that just screams summer vibes 🙂
I have made Roasted Old Bay Shrimp Boil in the oven, but on the smoker you get a smoky flavor that’s amazing.
Seems strange to call it a “boil” since we are smoking this, but just go with it 😉
How to Make Traeger Old Bay Shrimp Boil
The first step is setting your smoker or pellet grill to 250 degrees.
I have a Traeger that we love and use quite often.
Place a pound of petite red potatoes right on the grill grate for 25 to 30 minutes by themselves.
The cook time for potatoes is longer than the rest of the ingredients.
Oh, and if you get regular size red potatoes, and not these petite size, cut them in half first.
While the potatoes are smoking, put a pound of shrimp, a pound of sliced smoked sauce, and four ears of corn cut into thirds.
I went with the deveined shrimp that still had the shells on.
I think it makes for a more fun eating experience for this dish.
And also with the shells on they taste better.
I also made a dipping sauce by combining mayo, lemon juice, Tabasco sauce, and Old Bay seasoning.
You could also serve with melted butter or yum yum sauce too.
Add the potatoes to the tray.
Then drizzle with olive oil, lemon juice, and Old Bay seasoning.
Mix it all together, I had the best luck just using my hands.
Sprinkle more Old Bay over top and place in the 250 degree smoker for 45 to 55 minutes.
This is the spectacular sight that will await you when they are ready!
Seriously so pretty and smells phenomenal!
Serve Smoked Old Bay Shrimp Boil with the Old Bay aioli for dipping 🙂
The only way to enjoy this is with your hands.
A fun, messy dinner that is literally finger licking good.
One happy boy right here… I don’t think he wanted to share 🙂
