Smoked Pepperoni Pizza Pretzels
Smoked pepperoni pizza pretzels were actually a fun recipe surprise for my husband!
When we first started dating we went to a little pizza place that served pizza toppings on soft pretzels.
As we were reminiscing about it the other day I thought of this easy-to-make at home version for him.
To make up for the fact that I am using frozen pretzels, I thought I would amp up the creativity a bit by using my smoker/ pellet grill.
A little added wood fired flavor is always an extra bonus!
How to make smoked pepperoni pizza pretzels
First set your smoker or pellet grill to 250 degrees.
Place the frozen soft pretzels on the grate for 15 to 20 minutes.
Then remove the pretzels and place them on a baking sheet.
Brush with melted butter that has been mixed with garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
Then sprinkle the salt packet that came in the box of pretzels over the top.
Next top each pretzel with shredded mozzarella cheese.
And some mini pepperoni over top along with more garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
You could also add other toppings of choice such as sausage, banana peppers, pineapple, and/or olives.
Place the tray with the pizza pretzels back on the smoker for another 10 to 15 minutes.
Just keep an eye on them and remove once the cheese is perfectly ooey gooey and melty.
Serve smoked pepperoni pizza pretzels with pizza sauce for dipping!
This is more of a rip and dip type of pizza rather than just eating by the “slice” type of deal.
What a fun kid friendly dinner idea!
Just make sure to pair it with a few veggies or dishes.
Or serve as a fun after school snack, appetizer, or party food đŸ™‚
