Smoked Bacon Wrapped BBQ Meatballs
These smoked bacon wrapped BBQ meatballs are an outstanding appetizer or snack recipe!
Whether it’s game day, a party or celebration, or heck even a “just because snack”… anytime is the perfect time to make these.
And they are fairly simple because I am using frozen meatballs… think smarter not harder is the motto here đŸ˜‰
But you could certainly make your own meatballs if you prefer.
How to make smoked bacon wrapped BBQ meatballs
First let the meatballs thaw, that will make it easier for the toothpick to go through.
I am making 30 meatballs so I cut 15 slices of bacon in half.
That’s 1/2 slice for each meatball.
Wrap each half slice around the meatballs overlapping slightly, and secure through the center with a toothpick.
You could even get the kids to help with this part if your kids like to cook with you like mine do.
Once the meatballs are all wrapped up in their adorable bacon packages, season them with your favorite BBQ seasoning on all sides.
I used honey hog but any BBQ seasoning will work.
Next stop is your smoker or Traeger/ pellet grill set to 250 degrees.
They will cook for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours total.
Oh and flip them halfway through to make sure that the bacon is cooked evenly.
About 10 minutes before you want to remove them, brush well with BBQ sauce over the top.
Serve smoked bacon wrapped barbecue meatballs with even more BBQ sauce on the side for dipping!
These make for great party appetizer because the serving toothpicks are already in the meatball.
