Blackstone Buffalo Chicken Loaded Tots
‘Tis the season for football snacks and appetizers… and these Blackstone Buffalo Chicken Loaded Tots are the perfect recipe to make on game day!
They are made completely on the griddle, and can even be served right from the griddle (using caution of course).
Make them your own with additional toppings such as ranch dressing, chives, bacon, or even blue cheese crumbles.
How to make Blackstone Buffalo Chicken Loaded Tots
We are starting with a 32 ounce bag of frozen tater tots, no need to thaw.
And some ground chicken, an onion, garlic, your favorite buffalo sauce, and of course lots of cheese!

First, prep your ingredients and place everything on a tray to easily carry to the griddle or flat top grill.

Whoops… almost forgot the ranch dressing to drizzle over top before serving.

Preheat the griddle to medium heat for several minutes.
Then add some cooking oil of choice to one side of the griddle along with the frozen tots.
Cook the tots by themselves for about 5 minutes.
Flip and turn them with your hibachi spatulas a few times.
Then add some more cooking oil and a diced onion to an empty side of the griddle.

Cook the onion for 2 to 3 minutes by itself.
Then add a pound of ground chicken, minced garlic, kosher salt, and pepper.

Continue turning and flipping the tots, while also breaking apart the chicken on the griddle with hibachi spatulas.
After 4 to 5 minutes, add a little over a cup of your favorite buffalo wing sauce.
Mix it all together and cook another 2 minutes or so.

Once the tots are cooked and crisped how you prefer, use the spatulas to transfer the buffalo chicken on top of the tots.
And add 2 cups of shredded cheese.

Use a large melting dome or 9×13 foil pan over the tots to help the cheese get nice and melty.

Drizzle more buffalo sauce and ranch dressing over Blackstone Buffalo Chicken Loaded Tots!
I also added some dried chives as well 🙂
Transfer this yumminess to a tray or have everyone serve themselves right from the griddle.
Use caution as the griddle will stay hot for a few minutes.

Blackstone Buffalo Chicken Loaded Tots
Equipment
- Blackstone Griddle
- Flat Top Grill/ Griddle
Ingredients
- cooking oil of choice
- 1 32 ounce bag frozen tater tots
- 1 onion diced
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 4 to 5 cloves garlic minced
- kosher salt, pepper
- 1 1/4 cups buffalo wing sauce (plus more to drizzle over top if desired)
- 2 cups shredded cheese of choice (I used Mexican blend)
- Optional toppings: ranch dressing, chives, bacon bits
Instructions
- Preheat the griddle to medium heat for a few minutes. Add some cooking oil and frozen tots on one side of the griddle, flipping with hibachi spatulas a few times. After 5 minutes add more oil to the empty side of the griddle and the diced onion.
- Cook the onion 2 to 3 minutes, mixing a few times with hibachi spatulas. And just keep turning and flipping the tots a few times.
- Add the ground chicken, garlic, kosher salt, and pepper with the onions. Cook 4 to 5 minutes, breaking apart the chicken and mixing with hibachi spatulas. Keep turning the tots as well, but keeping them separate from the chicken.
- Add the buffalo sauce to the chicken, cook another 2 to 3 minutes and mixing together with the chicken with hibachi spatulas.
- Once the tots are cooked and crisp, use the spatulas to put the buffalo chicken over the tots. Add the cheese over top as well and any additional toppings such as more buffalo sauce, ranch dressing, chives, and/or bacon bits.Note: Use a large melting dome or 9×13 foil pan to place over the loaded tots to speed up the cheese melting.
- Turn the griddle off once the cheese is melted and either transfer to a tray or let everyone serve themselves from the griddle (using caution as the griddle will remain hot for several minutes).
