Easy Smoked Turkey Meatballs

Easy Smoked Turkey Meatballs

This Easy Smoked Turkey Meatballs recipe truly live up to their name and can be used in a variety of ways.

Why are they SOOO easy you might ask?

Well, friends, that is because they use frozen turkey meatballs!

But they are turned into something extra special thanks to the flavor of the smoker or pellet grill.

And they can be enjoyed as is, served as a meatball sub, perhaps over some pasta or zucchini noodles, or even enjoy with some garlic bread.

How to make Easy Smoked Turkey Meatballs

To start all you need is some olive oil, a cast iron skillet, a pound of frozen turkey meatballs, and a 24 ounce jar of marina sauce.

You could certainly use a foil pan in place of the cast iron skillet.

And to make this low carb or more keto friendly, use the Rao brand of sauce or another no sugar added sauce.

ingredients for the meatballs

First, brush some olive oil in the bottom of the skillet or foil pan.

Then arrange the turkey meatballs in a single layer, you should get around 32 to 36 in a pound bag.

You can thaw the meatballs if preferred but it is not necessary.

Next pour the whole jar of sauce over the meatballs.

Then, for a little extra flavor, sprinkle some kosher salt, pepper, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and crushed red pepper flakes over top.

Next stop is the smoker or pellet grill set to 225 degrees!

Simply place the pan right on the grate for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Then sprinkle a cup or two of shredded mozzarella cheese over top and close the smoker lid for another 15 minutes.

We really need just enough time for the cheese to melt.

Easy Smoked Turkey Meatballs

Garnish the easy smoked turkey meatballs with fresh parsley or basil if desired!

We snuck a few meatballs just to enjoy by themselves as a snack.

But then my husband enjoyed his on a bun as a meatball sub and I had mine over some cooked zucchini noodles.

And we were both happy as could be at dinner!
