Grilled Balsamic Sausage and Veggies
I made this Grilled Balsamic Sausage and Veggies recipe on my birthday, so you know if THIS was my birthday meal it truly is amazing!
My family came over for a fun pool day and I had to grill something for lunch, because that’s just what I do 😉
It was pretty healthy, full of flavor, and delicious served with some good bread.
An open style grilling basket is a must, lucky for me my daughter just got me one for Mother’s Day 🙂
How to make Grilled Balsamic Sausage and Veggies
You will need some smoked sausage to start, I went with chicken sausage.
Also an onion, some bell peppers, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, oregano, and garlic powder.
Slice the sausage and veggies and put them in a bowl.
Then add 2 tablespoons each olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
And season with kosher salt, pepper, oregano, and garlic powder.
Use some tongs to toss it all together.
Next preheat your grill with the open grilling basket to medium heat for a few minutes.
Then add the seasoned sausage and veggie mixture.
This will cook about 20 minutes total, and toss it all together several times with tongs.
I drizzled some balsamic glaze over top before serving.
You can easily find this in the vinegar section of the store or Amazon!

Feta would be a great cheese to use also.

Grilled Balsamic Sausage and Veggies

Ingredients
- 1 14 ounce package smoked sausage (I used chicken sausage) sliced
- 1 red bell pepper sliced
- 1 orange bell pepper
- 1 yellow bell pepper sliced
- 1 onion sliced
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- kosher salt, pepper, garlic powder, dried oregano (to taste)
- 1/2 cup crumbled goat cheese or feta cheese
- Optional: basil, balsamic glaze
Instructions
- Put the sausage slices, sliced peppers and onion in a bowl along with the balsamic vinegar, olive oil, kosher salt, pepper, garlic powder, and dried oregano. Toss until combined.
- Preheat your grill to medium heat with the grill basket (my grill basket was the kind with an open top, picture in post above).
- Add the sausage and veggies to the grill basket. Grill 18 to 22 minutes, carefully tossing everything together a few times with tongs. Serve with goat cheese or feta cheese over top and with basil and balsamic glaze if desired.
