Blackstone Teriyaki Chicken Wonton Nachos

Blackstone Teriyaki Chicken Wonton Nachos

I thought about making egg rolls on the flat top griddle for game day, but was feeling a bit lazy. So I went with a Blackstone Teriyaki Chicken Wonton Nachos recipe instead.

Basically, I made what would have been the egg roll filling on the griddle.

Then crisped some wonton wrappers, also on the Blackstone.

I topped the chips with the teriyaki chicken and called it our fancy football game day snack 😉

Oh so messy, but oh so fun!

How to make Blackstone Teriyaki Chicken Wonton Nachos

First put a pound of ground chicken, a salad kit (minus the dressing), carrots, green onions, garlic, and teriyaki sauce on a tray.

This way you can head out to your griddle in less trips.

I put the wontons on the tray as well, but some dried up a little.

So learn from me and either cover them or bring them out right before cooking.

prepped ingredients on a tray

Preheat your griddle to medium, add some cooking oil of choice, and the chicken.

Cook the chicken for 2 to 3 minutes, breaking it apart with hibachi spatulas.

Then add the salad kit, shredded carrots, garlic, and green onions.

And cook another 5 to 6 minutes.

Then drizzle on 3/4 cup teriyaki sauce.

You can tell which team I was rooting for 😉

adding the teriyaki sauce

Cook for just another minute, mixing in the teriyaki sauce.

Then remove and scrape your griddle clean, water may be needed because of the sticky sauce.

A little more cooking oil and simply lay the wonton wrappers down.

I cut mine in half diagonally.

adding wontons to the griddle

Cook them just a few minutes, flipping with tongs a few times.

I would recommend not leaving your griddle during this part, they kind of need to be babysat.

Once they are crisped how you prefer, remove them and we can assemble the nachos!

Top the chips with the chicken and some optional ingredients such as sriracha mayo, more green onions, and chopped peanuts.

Blackstone Teriyaki Wonton Nachos are best if eaten right away 🙂

Serve with a heaping pile of napkins and a sense of humor, because they are messy… but in the most fun way possible 😉

Equipment

  • Blackstone Griddle
  • Flat Top Grill/ Griddle

Ingredients

  • cooking oil of choice
  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 9 ounce bag coleslaw mix (or a salad kit with the dressing and topping packet removed)
  • 4 green onions sliced
  • 5 to 6 cloves garlic minced
  • 3/4 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 20 wonton wrappers (keep covered until right before cooking) sliced in half, diagonally
  • Optional toppings: sriracha mayo, chopped peanuts, more green onions

Instructions

  • Preheat your griddle to medium. Add some cooking oil and the ground chicken. Cook 2 to 3 minutes, breaking apart with hibachi spatulas.
  • Add the carrots, slaw or salad kit, green onions, and garlic. Cook 5 to 6 minutes, mixing it a few times with hibachi spatulas.
  • Add the teriyaki sauce and cook another 1 to 2 minutes, mixing together. Remove this from the griddle and scrape the griddle clean.
  • Add more cooking oil and a few wontons. Cook them 2 to 3 minutes, flipping a few times with tongs. If they are cooking too fast, lower the heat a little. Remove once they are crisped how you prefer and repeat cooking the remaining wontons, adding more oil each time.
  • Serve with the chicken mixture on top of the crispy wontons, top with sriracha mayo, chopped peanuts, and more green onions if desired.
Note: If not serving right away, assemble them right before serving. They are messy, but fun!!
