Smoked Chili Cheese Dip
Smoked Chili Cheese Dip is a version of the classic Cincinnati recipe for Skyline Chili Dip!
I took the traditional recipe and made a few tweaks such as adding some extra seasonings and smoking it on my Traeger pellet grill.
Extra wood fired flavored is always welcome on game day, especially when watching my Cincinnati Bengals 🙂
How to make Smoked Chili Cheese Dip
I’m a Cincinnati girl, so I am using my favorite Skyline chili for this dip.
You could also use any can of your favorite chili, or two cups of homemade chili.
First place a block of cream cheese in a dish around a 9×9 size.
Use a knife to cut a few diagonal lines about half inch deep to allow more smoky flavor.
Then season it with kosher salt, pepper, chili powder, and cumin.
Next set the smoker or pellet grill to around 225 to 250 degrees.
If your pellet grill has a super smoke setting, turn that on as well.
And smoke the cream cheese for 45 minutes to an hour.
Then use a spoon to spread the cream cheese evenly.
And now for the chili!
Pour a 15 ounce can of Skyline Cincinnati style chili, or two cups of your chili of choice 🙂
Then let this go on the smoker or pellet grill for another 45 minutes to an hour.
About 1 1/2 cups of cheddar or Mexican blend cheese gets sprinkled over top next.
And just let this go on the smoker until the cheese is nice and melted.
Serve Smoked Chili Cheese Dip with Fritos Scoops or tortilla chips for dipping 🙂
Add some hot sauce to spice things up if preferred!
