Blackstone Shrimp Boil Fried Rice
Blackstone Shrimp Boil Fried Rice is my recipe mash up of a traditional shrimp boil and hibachi style fried rice.
So yeah, nothing is boiled in this at all.
It has everything in a shrimp boil… shrimp, corn, and sausage, and even topped with crunchy potato sticks to get that potato in there 😉
And I made a version of yum yum sauce with Old Bay seasoning to add to this mixed up, crazy recipe!
I was definately feeding a crowd on this day.
You can easily cut the recipe in half in you are only feeding a few… or just enjoy the leftovers 🙂
How to make Blackstone Shrimp Boil Fried Rice
I made 8 cups of Jasmine rice in my rice cooker.
Then put the rice on a tray and put it in the fridge to cool for a few hours.
This step helps create the same rice texture as in the hibachi restaurants.
And everything else needed is shown below.
For the yum yum sauce, you could use a bottle of store bought sauce.
Or make your own with mayo, ketchup, lemon, sugar, and Old Bay.
I mixed mine together a few hours before serving and stored it in the fridge.
Any time I cook on my Blackstone griddle/ flat top grill I prep my ingredients because griddle cooking goes fast.
Put them all on a tray to easily carry outside to the griddle.
Then preheat the griddle to medium high heat for several minutes.
Put some cooking oil of choice along with the cooked and cooled rice with 3 eggs on one side.
And the corn kernels and a diced onion on the other side.
Cook these together, mixing with hibachi spatulas for a few minutes.
Then combine the rice and veggies and move it all to one side of the griddle.
A little more cooking oil to the empty side of the griddle and add two pounds of shrimp, a pound of diced smoked sausage, garlic, and Old Bay seasoning.
Cook the shrimp and sausage for a few minutes, while also flipping and mixing the rice.
Next combine it all together and add 1/2 cup soy sauce, butter, green onions, and some lemon juice.
Cook this about 5 to 6 more minutes, flipping and mixing with the spatulas.
I like to use the hibachi spatulas to create a thin layer of rice, pressing flat into the griddle to get a slight crisp on the rice.
Serve Blackstone Shrimp Boil Fried Rice with the Old Bay yum yum sauce, sriracha, and crunchy potato sticks 🙂
Trust me on the potato sticks, it sounds crazy but oh SOOOO good!
